The “Story” of Wayne and Eleanor is a book on success with chapters on hard work in building a legacy company from the ground up, the importance of family, being socially minded, giving back to the community and mentors to many. Your success is an inspiration to all who come in contact with you.

Accessible Housing is incredibly thankful for the dedication and support from Trico Homes in making our new home, Inclusio, possible. Trico Homes generously stepped in and supported our project as part of the RESOLVE Campaign. Inclusio is a 45-unit accessible and affordable home for adults with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis or a spinal cord injury. In September 2016, Accessible Housing hosted a Groundbreaking celebration to kick-off the construction of Inclusio to recognize the tremendous efforts and generosity of all of the supporters involved in the new home. Thank you, Trico Homes for supporting this project and our work!

It was 1999 when I was first introduced to Wayne Chiu through two of our parents and Board members, Wayne Berg and Steve Cochrane. Wayne was deeply touched by the fact that his friends were travelling the often scary journey of childhood cancer with their children.

During my first year with Trico, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a Kids Cancer Care Shave Your Lid for a Kid event at Samuel W. Shaw. The school raised over $18,000 for the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. It was truly humbling to be among these brave young children who told their stories as well as the students and faculty who buzzed off their locks for this great cause!

Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge back in 2014? Thanks to Excel Homes for nominating our CEO, Wayne Chiu, an opportunity came up for Trico to take part in this meaningful fundraising campaign to help promote awareness of the disease.

In support of STARS Lottery – STARS Air Ambulance’s largest yearly fundraiser – Trico has been the builder of the Calgary STARS Lottery home for the past four years. The 2021 Lottery home, is located in the beautiful SE community of Legacy. It is valued at over 1 million dollars and spans over 2,600 sq. ft. with a triple-car garage. Mark your calenders for January 14, 2021 for when ticket sales open!

The World of Social Entrepreneurship was a very special part of Beakerhead’s 2016 programming.

My fondest memories of my time at Trico Homes was participating in building a home for a needy family as part of the Homes of Hope program in Tijuana, Mexico back in 2015.

For almost 10 years, Trico Homes has been a partner in the success of Trico Centre and, in turn, in supporting Calgarians of all ages to be active and healthy.
