Executive office shuffles at Trico Homes and CMLC in 2020

Saturday, November 23, 2019

There will be a new face in the president’s chair at Trico Homes in the new year, as current president, Tom Chisholm, is making the move to retirement.

“Tom will be retiring and moving back to the U.S. to be closer to his family. I would like to thank Tom for his contributions and recognize the accomplishments he’s made during his time as president of Trico Homes,” said Wayne Chiu, CEO and founder of Trico Homes. “I am also very pleased to announce that Michael Brown will be joining our team as president for Trico Homes in January 2020. Throughout his time at the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, Michael has been able to successfully deliver a number of high-profile projects in support of the East Village Master Plan and the broader River’s District Plan.”

“I’m really looking forward to being part of the Trico Homes team. Eleanor and Wayne have created something very special beyond home building,” said Brown. “Trico is a community builder that creates life-changing moments for Calgarians and I can’t wait to contribute and share my experiences with this highly engaged group of people.”

Trico Homes is ‘a community leader,’ says new president

Friday, November 15, 2019

After playing a lead role in the revitalization of East Village, Michael Brown is moving into the president’s chair of one of Calgary’s veteran home builders.

Following the retirement of Trico Homes’ current president, Tom Chisholm, Brown will take over the role starting in January 2020. The builder is presently active in 24 communities in the Calgary area.

“It was one of those opportunities — their value system, my value system, who they are as a company, who I want to be — that really aligned,” says Brown, on the role with Trico.

In Trico, Brown was impressed with its success as not only a business, but a community builder, as well.

“I believe Trico is a leader on that front,” he says. “They always put the community first. That was something that became very important to me. In meeting with them, it was really what attracted me to Trico.”
