La vie est belle … in Crestmont West
Tuesday, September 10, 2019
“We were looking for a home where our kids would be raised and to have that bigger space right now. It’s a long-term view — we don’t want to be moving in another few years,” says Melanie Villefranche.
They chose Trico Homes as their builder after meeting with Area sales manager, Kelsey Clarke, during a tour of show homes in Cochrane. The homes were great but the location was not. Back at home, they researched other areas where Trico was building, which led them to Crestmont West by Qualico Communities, located west of Winsport Canada Olympic Park.
On their first visit to the Trico show homes, who should they run into but Kelsey Clarke, who had now moved to the Crestmont West sales centre.
“We started talking to her and ended up buying a house,” Melanie says, laughing.

As capitalism evolves, Calgary poised to be a leader
Tuesday, September 10, 2019
This past summer, the Business Roundtable, which includes the CEOs of top American businesses, made a bold statement about the future of business — that companies serve not just shareholders, but customers, employees, suppliers and communities.
Amidst shifting perspectives about the role of business in society today, the University of Calgary has announced the creation of the Trico Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Centre at the Haskayne School of Business. As business is changing, so, too, is business education.
The centre, announced on Sept. 10, has been made a reality thanks to the generosity of Wayne and Eleanor Chiu, BComm’85. A $5-million gift from their Trico Charitable Foundation will go towards UCalgary’s $1.3-billion Energize: The Campaign for Eyes High.
“I believe that, by engaging the University of Calgary, we are definitely able to create a much greater impact in Canada and possibly around the world. If we are able to use social entrepreneurship by encouraging more business people to get engaged into doing good by doing well, I think that will be huge for Calgary,” says Wayne Chiu, CM, AOE, ICD.D, and chairman, Trico Charitable Foundation.

Trico Homes introduces a new line of homes in Redstone
Friday, July 12, 2019
Trico Homes is bringing a new jewel, comprised of wider lots and homes with floor plans well-suited for multi-generational families, to a community in northeast Calgary.
The Gems Series is an 80-lot development by Trico, earmarked for 56 single-family homes with a front-drive double car garage, and 24 of the laned single-family variety. One of the qualities that sets this development apart is that both the lots and homes will be wider than average.
“That allows us to do different things with homes that you can’t do with a regular home, just with the added space,” says Justin Rampersad, co-area sales manager for the Gems Series. “We’re able to offer bigger bedrooms, bigger living spaces in general, with the goal of multi-generational living.”

The Gem Series homes are designed for multi-generational families and those wanting larger flexible homes that can accommodate legal suites, says Justin Rampersad, co-area sales manager for Trico.
“There are so many unique features about this development and these homes and Trico is the exclusive builder in this enclave,” says Rampersad. “The width of the homes is one of the features that stands out right away, ranging from 28- to 36-feet wide. To put things into perspective, a typical laned home is 20-feet wide, and a front-drive starts at 24 feet. This increased width is felt as soon as you walk into the homes.
