In recognition of building more than 10,000 homes for families in the Calgary area and as a way of saying thanks and giving back to the community, Trico Homes launched its 10,000 Homes Giving Back campaign on June 15.
The campaign runs through to July 15, during which time the builder will be donating $1,000 from every home sold to five local charities, with a goal of raising $50,000 over the 30-day period.

The Jade a perfect fit for large families
Saturday, June 22, 2019
This model, which has a double-car front-attached garage, measures 2,208 square feet, and is part of the Gems Series, an enclave in Redstone that boasts larger-than-average home and lot widths, and is exclusive to Trico.
On the main level, the front-facing flex room can be converted to a bedroom. With a full bathroom — presented in the show home — only a few steps away, the people who sleep here will never need to take the stairs.
For multi-generational households, this gives grandparents the opportunity to access all of the home’s everyday necessities on one level. It’s the benefits of a bungalow, but with their grandchildren and adult children with bedrooms on the level above, and potentially below.

Growing family finds a place to call home in Cornerbrook
Saturday, May 25, 2019
When Amin and Rozmin Lakhani learned they were expecting their first child, one of their first thoughts was that they needed a larger home — a place where he or she would grow up.
With lots backing onto the ponds and wetland areas, Amin says it was a rare opportunity for them to stay in the northeast, where they are deeply entrenched in the community, and to build a large home on a walkout lot.
They were fortunate to find a walkout lot backing onto a pond, which was perfect for Trico’s Kingston model home. At nearly 2,400 square feet, the front-drive, two-storey, move-up home has four bedrooms and a bonus room upstairs and a main floor flex room.
“I am mostly looking forward to watching the sunrise across the pond every morning and to raising our family here. We’re not sure if it’s a he or a she, but it will be his or her first home,” Amin says of their child who is expected in November.

Kingsland Junction has a site ‘big enough that we could do something very special’
Sunday, May 12, 2019
The massive building site on prime land at Macleod Trail and 77th Avenue S.W. has been dubbed Kingsland Junction, a five-building mixed-use development with retail, commercial and rental residences.
“We were so excited when the opportunity arose. The site was big enough that we could do something very special, ”says Wanda Palmer, vice-president of marketing for Trico.
By offering a variety of housing options for rent, rather than for sale, Palmer says Kingsland Junction will bring people of all ages together in an inclusive, healthy community that will nurture a higher quality of life. She refers to it as “full-spectrum” housing with something for everyone, including those who want to age in place.
“We’re doing a lot of work to create this. Kingsland Junction is going to encourage total health and wellness, provide opportunities for social interaction and create a very safe and beautiful place for the residents and the greater community to gather,” she says.

Trico, Rohit and Delnor are leading this trend with progressive employment practices that have placed them on the list of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers (under 500 employees).
“Trico’s corporate culture is really born out of its values,” Ezinga says. “Culture starts at the top and it’s how they (company founders) do business. A few years ago we made it very practical” by making it policy.

Saturday, April 06, 2019
“Although she’s lived on an acreages almost all of her life, she recently made the decision to right-size, first to a 2,800-square-foot single-family home in Crystal Shores and then, most recently to a 1,730-square-foot three-bedroom walkout home — the Rowan II laned home model — from Trico Homes in Anthem United’s new master-planned community of D’Arcy, which graces the perimeter lands of D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club on the town’s north side.”
For Libbrecht the location was a big attraction, close to her childhood home and acreage, which she says has recently been sold to Co-op, and to major thoroughfares out of Okotoks. “You can just zip out on to the 2A.”

Five ways to build community
Saturday, April 06, 2019
