Monday, December 11, 2017
Whether it’s to binge watch a series on Netflix, take in the hockey game, or meet for a round of Monopoly, every family needs a place in which to hang out.
Just as the kitchen and great room can do this for guests, the bonus room is where the household connects.
The Porter model by Trico Homes does this well. Its welcoming bonus room measures 15 feet six inches by 16 feet, providing enough space for a well-sized sectional, chairs, a coffee table, and big TV.

Friday, December 01, 2017
When shovels turned on a lot in Silver Springs in 1992, it wasn’t just the first step for a long-standing home builder in Calgary, but a company that would make its mark on a social level in the city, too.
This year Trico Homes — a company started by Wayne Chiu — is in its 25th year of business in Calgary and smaller surrounding centres, such as Airdrie, Cochrane and Okotoks.
“Reaching our 25-year anniversary has been so special for the entire team,” says Wanda Palmer, vice-president of marketing for Trico. “We tend to focus our efforts on planning for the future, so this milestone has given us an opportunity to look back at Trico’s accomplishments, big and small, and celebrate our journey and the amazing lessons that helped us become the company we are today.”

Friday, November 24, 2017
“Whether you provide the gift of time, encouragement or financial support, it all creates a positive impact for you and those you help,” writes Wayne Chiu, founder of Trico Homes.
I strongly believe if we — parents, family members, citizens and business people — provide an example and encourage a culture of giving, our society will flourish. Big or small, your gift will be greatly appreciated by those receiving it and you will feel good for giving it. More importantly your gift may teach and influence others to do the same.
Whether you provide the gift of time, encouragement or financial support, it all creates a positive impact for you and those you help. A great example is how my business has grown and evolved and at the same time has been able to provide support to many organizations and individuals throughout its 24-year journey.
The company’s core values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, Community and Opportunity represent its name — TRICO — and the foundation of its culture. Its mission is to enhance the lives of our customers and the communities they live in through our products and our work.

Tuesday, July 25, 2017
More than 9,000 families have homes and countless memories have been created thanks to a company’s 25-year commitment to building homes with pride to enhance the lives of its customers and the communities they live in.
Strong leadership is a hallmark at Trico, and Wayne Chiu, the founder of Trico Homes, says his proudest achievement was seeing Trico named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed companies for the first time in 2004.
“At that point I knew I could use the success of my business to do good in the community and ultimately create new business opportunities by creating shared value,” says Chiu, chief executive officer, who was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2015.
Spice it up with ease in second kitchen
Friday, July 21, 2017
Spice kitchens are letting domestic chefs season, fry and saute in a separate space, keeping scents behind a closed door.
Gurjinder and Harbhajan Dhillon, who have a 14-year-old daughter, are enjoying the feature in their new home by Trico Homes. They moved to the northwest community of Beacon Heights in Sherwood from Taradale earlier in July.
“Ours is all Indian cooking, so that kitchen is a really good feature because the flavours from the spices don’t go on the clothes and the rest of the house,” Gurjinder says.
