Trico Homes Moves to New Offices
Friday, August 20, 2021
Trico Homes have been experts in moving homebuyers to a new home, and now the renowned Calgary company has moved to its new home as well.
After more than 20 years at its old office in the Beltline, Trico Homes has moved its headquarters to Kingsland Junction. They occupy a total of just under 29,000 square feet of the first two floors of a four-storey building in a five-building complex. This new location just off Macleod Trail SW also combines Trico’s other businesses – Trico Communities’ rental apartments and Trico LivingWell’s older adult residences – in this complex as well.

Some townhomes have condo fees, others are fee simple — here’s what you need to know
Friday, July 23, 2021
Some homeowners take immense pride in caring for their home while others are perfectly happy being invoiced for home maintenance. Hence, for those considering purchasing a townhome, there are two types of ownership: fee simple and condominium.
Fee simple means the home and the land are owned outright. In a condo, the buyer owns their unit and a portion of the shared property. With fee simple, the owner is responsible for everything including the bills. With a condo, the association is responsible and all owners share expenses via a mandatory monthly fee.

Around Town Monday June 14 – Trico Homes
Sunday, June 13, 2021
On Thursday, June 17, founder and CEO of Trico Group, Wayne Chiu, will relocate the company offices from 11 Avenue S.W. to the new Kingsland Junction multi-family/mixed use Trico development on Macleod Trail S. Trico has run its head office out of the two-storey building west of 10 Street S.W. for the past 20 years but with a current staff of 80 it’s time for a move to larger space.
Typical of the generosity of one of this city’s most caring businessmen, Chiu has offered the soon-to-be empty 30,000-square-foot building to Women In Need Society (WINS), at a very charitable rate. WINS supports vulnerable women and their children, so they can grow and contribute to the community. It has a shopping alternative, investing in the social well being of the city, and will operate a large thrift store over the entire ground level. Upstairs will house its offices and space to run its social enterprise programs.

The Bellview sparkles with views in all directions
Friday, June 04, 2021
Lynn and Ralf chose Trico Homes to build their laned home in D’Arcy, an Anthem United community in the northeast corner of Okotoks between Northridge Drive and the D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club. Their home, the Bellview, is the first kick at home ownership for each of them.
Once the couple was approved for financing the purchase and on the building journey, Lynn went to town designing her 1,540-square-foot home using the Bellview blueprints. She moved walls, took out a closet and made a bedroom into another, redrew the kitchen and bathrooms, redesigned the staircase with a wrought iron railing and added windows. Lots and lots of windows.
“My brother asked me why I bothered with walls. I could have just made them windows,” she says, laughing.

Loving laned homes
Friday, May 28, 2021
The love for laned homes is real. In fact, it’s so well-loved right now that homebuilders are having a hard time keeping up with demand for what some have called today’s fairy tale home.
The traditional laned home is the fairy tale home for many homebuyers because of its street-friendly façade. It is also easily the most affordable detached, single-family home option that makes the homeowning dream come true.
Trico Homes Marketing Manager, Glenda Schwartz [agrees] laned homes trump front-drive garage homes in curb appeal. “Compared to front attached garage you have the opportunity to create gorgeous curb appeal. You can have beautiful landscaping rather than a driveway in front of your home.”

Midtown offers urban lifestyle and village charm
Thursday, May 27, 2021
Homebuyers looking for a community with a mix of big-city style and small-town charm need to look no further than Midtown, the urban enclave in Airdrie that offers the best of both worlds.
Found in the heart of central Airdrie, Midtown offers a rare sense of openness amid a bustling city, according to Trico Homes. The homebuilder is excited to invite buyers to its newly opened Phase 3, where the area’s central pond, promenade and greenspaces make Midtown the perfect place for leisurely strolls and relaxing weekend activities.
While Midtown has everything from condos to front-drive-garage homes, duplexes to garden-front homes, what Trico has brought to phase 3 “is something a little bit different.”
