Beyond The Front Door: Multi-Family Sales

The magic begins at the showhomes. I spend most of the week there, meeting with visitors, touring them around the homes, and telling them about the community. My job is to build relationships within the community, from realtors to local businesses, and of course, with the neighbours. It’s important to get to know the area you’re in, which is a piece of advice I give to new homebuyers as well; make sure to research different communities before you begin looking at residences. It can make all the difference to your moving experience.

The homebuying process starts with initial meetings, where we discuss needs and wants before exploring our floorplans and lot locations. We want to determine what plan works best for the homebuyer and their lifestyle, any upgrades they would like to add, and how we can ensure the homebuyer is going to get everything they want out of their new home. Another touchpoint at these meetings is budgeting; we make sure that the new home fits within the homebuyer’s financial budget as well as their timeline. The most important aspect of the process is that the homebuyer is set up for success; if you’re not sure about your finances, reach out to a mortgage professional! This is the best way to ensure roadblocks are eliminated early on.

After floorplans, homesite, and selections are chosen, we go through the purchase contract together and wait for the mortgage to be approved, which is when the contract goes “firm.” Since all the selections have been chosen, this is the point when most homebuyers get to relax! It’s that simple; most people don’t realize that buying a home really can be a stress-free process. It’s my job to make it easy for the homebuyer, and I enjoy the opportunity to do so.

Since the contract has been signed, it’s time for the most exciting part of the homebuying process: the build. I like to take homebuyers on walkthroughs as construction progresses, as well as send photo updates, which our clients really love. It’s a special journey to be a part of, and knowing that you helped them get to watch their dream home being built is such a rewarding experience. Everyone on the sales team at Trico is capable and caring, and I know we all appreciate these fulfilling moments of the job.

Beyond the Front Door highlights different aspects of the homebuilding process, from concept to possession, giving you an inside glimpse into what exactly goes into building a home.
