Stunning views set the scene in Precedence
Friday, February 28, 2020
[Vince & Barb] had been on the lookout for a new home, a place they could ground into and really call home. They knew that they wanted to stay in Cochrane, and preferably in Riversong, where they could walk the trails by the river and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views. They also wanted a home that would fit their family now and offer the couple a low maintenance lifestyle in the future.
They found exactly what they were looking for with Trico Homes’ new Street Town designs in Precedence, the final phase of Riversong.
On their new home wish list was plenty of space for the entire family — its numbers had grown in recent years with Timothy’s girlfriend, Thao, joining the brood, along with the latest addition to the family, Lucy, a rescue dog from Oregon.
“It was really because of Lucy that we found our new home,” recalls Barb, who says that they wandered across the Trico show home, while out walking her in September, just weeks after adopting her.

Quick possession: Move into a new home faster
Saturday, February 22, 2020
Cameron Larocque and Morgan Taylor were ready to buy a home but, as for many young couples, mortgage approval was proving difficult.
Camped out in the basement of Taylor’s parents’ home since returning from Europe last summer, they’d been looking at resale homes and researching building from scratch. Larocque has a good job as a chartered professional accountant but Taylor’s job as a substitute teacher was a roadblock to financing anything they liked. Until they found a quick possession model by Trico Homes in a neighbourhood they thought they’d never be able to afford — Cranston’s Riverstone.
“This spec home was on sale. It was honestly a deal we couldn’t pass up,” Taylor says.
The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom Garrison floor plan with front single-car garage was one of several move-in ready homes in Riverstone built by Trico. The price on the 1,621-square-foot home on a zero lot had been reduced twice by the builder, and Larocque happened to stumble across the listing while browsing on his phone late one night.
“It was in our price range. We just went to the Trico sales centre in Riverstone and said we want to see it,” he says.
