Trico Changemakers Studio
When Mount Royal University’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Institute for Community Prosperity had the bold idea to open a co-working space on campus to encourage collaboration between student and community changemakers, there was one obvious partner for the endeavour – Trico. After an initial meeting with Wayne Chiu and Dan Overall from the Trico Foundation, we knew we had found passionate partners that would help us make a positive, sustainable impact on our community. Trico Homes has been impacting people and communities for 25 years and the Foundation has amplified that impact even further. We feel immensely grateful to have an organization in our community that embodies change making values and is so willing to invest time and resources into making a positive change on us all.
I have known and done business with Wayne and Trico Homes for over 20 years. During that time we have either participated in areas as two of several builders, as shareholders or as Joint Venture Partners in other areas. Over the 20 years this has included some 15 or more developments in Calgary and Area. During those various business ventures I have found Wayne to be of highest integrity, a partner who paid their share, was always open to discussion and who sold at fair market value to maintain the integrity of the area. I have always experienced Wayne’s’ business style as being honourably competitive, and a person with whom I have shared a mutually respectful relationship. Most of all, I consider Wayne a good friend who I could trust to always be honest in our business and personal relationship.
Delta Construction and Siding Ltd.
My relationship with Trico began back in 2004. Over the last 13 years, we have grown and maintained a strong partnership and a deep mutual respect for one another. Trico Homes has not only been an exceptional business partner to Delta Construction, but also a great mentor and role model in leadership as well as business excellence.

My Hand on My Very Own Canadian Land
As have many, I came to Canada on a temporary foreign worker (TFW) and moved into rented accommodation. I had owned my own home in the UK and being a tenant felt like a backwards step, not the feeling of moving on with a new life that I had expected. When I was in a position to buy I chose Midtown, Airdrie and Trico, specifically Carmen, helped me to pick the perfect spot. Touching something I owned, even a bare bit of ground was an important step for me. Now that my dream home has been built, Carmen and her team were once again instrumental in helping me, and my life is back on track, onwards and upwards!
